151. Nancy (Jane?)5 Wallingford (Daniel4, Daniel3, Lebanon2 Wallingfords, Unconnected1) was born in Rochester, Strafford County, New Hampshire 24 January 1844. Place of birth is from her daughter Ida's death record. Nancy was age 6 in the 1850 census and 19 in the 1860 census. Her birthdate is calculated from her age at death. She appears to have been born before her parents were married. Nancy died 27 February 1909, in Rochester, Strafford County, New Hampshire.(747)
She married Atlas B. Howard, 30 March 1862, in Strafford, Strafford County, New Hampshire.(748) Atlas was born about 1835, in Rochester, Strafford County, New Hampshire. (Place of birth from daughter Annie's birth record in 1889, at which time he was aged 53.) Canney refers to him as "Aldo B. Howard".(749)
Shackford calls her Nancy in one place, then adds a "sister" Nancy Jane and follows her with just plain Jane.(750) I believe they are all the same person and perhaps Nancy went by Jane later in life. On her daughter Annie's birth certificate and her daugher Ida's death certificate she is referred to as "N.J." Their daughter Annie was their 6th child according to the source for her birth record, so other children are still missing at this point.
Nancy (Jane?) Wallingford and Atlas B. Howard had the following children:
267 i. Josephine6 Howard.(751)
268 ii. Ida W. Howard was born in Rochester, Strafford County, New Hampshire about December 1871.(752) (Based on her age of 20 years 4 months at death.) Ida died during chidlbirth, 5 April 1892, in Rochester, Strafford County, New Hampshire, at 20 years of age.(753) No mention was made in the Rochester town report death records of a child's death on the same day, so perhaps the child to which she gave birth survived. The fact that she still went by the name of Howard probably meant that she was unmarried at the time.
269 iii. Annie Howard was born in Strafford, Strafford County, New Hampshire 17 April 1889.(754)
