660. John G.8 Wallingford (Noble7, John Noble6, Jonathan5, Peter4, John3, John2, Nicholas1) was born in California about 1885/86. His age in the 1910 census appeared to be 24, but was difficult to read. It said he was born in California.

He married Mary E. Cushing, about 1912. Proof of their marriage is based on the 1920 census, where John is living with Melzar H. Cushing as his son-in-law and Mary is listed as Melzar's daughter and their son John Wallingford is Melzar's grandson. In the 1930 census it gives their ages at marriage, but the second digit for both of them is very difficult to read. They were in their twenties. John's looks like 26 and Mary's like 22 or 27. They were likely married around, but not necessary in, 1912.

Mary was born 17 June 1887, in Iowa. Her parentage is based on the fact that she was living with her parents and her husband in the 1920 census of Seattle. Her mother's full maiden name comes from the LDS Pedigree Resource File, as does her birth date. Her place of birth is from the 1920 and 1930 censuses. Mary was the daughter of Melzar Hatch Cushing and Martha Belle Nowlin.

When the 1910 census was taken he was living with his parents in Seattle.(3329) He is found in the 1920 census of Seattle living with his in-laws, the Cushings, and his wife and son. He was a salesman for a furniture company.(3330) In 1930 they are still in Seattle, living apart but not far from the Cushings. John was employed as a buyer for a furniture company.(3331) They only had one child in both the 1920 and 1930 censuses.

He may be the John Wallingford in the SSDI who was born 30 November 1886 and died in October 1964, card issued in California and last residence in Colorado.

John G. Wallingford and Mary E. Cushing had the following child:

child 789 i. John M.9 Wallingford was born in Washington 30 March 1914. He was 5 in the 1920 census taken on January 14 and 16 in the 1930 census taken on April 9th, which would have him born between January 15 and April 8, 1914. The SSDI has a John Wallingford born on March 30, 1914, whose Social Security number was issued in Washington state, who is a likely candidate. John died in March 1985. This is from the Social Security Death Index, assuming that the John born on March 30, 1914 is the correct one. His last residence was in Oakland, California.
