618. Thomas Calvin Neal8 Wallingford (Ira7, Samuel6, David5, Peter4, John3, John2, Nicholas1) was born in Dover, Strafford County, New Hampshire 23 July 1848. (Obituary) Calvin died 3 July 1918, at home, 133 Portland Ave., in Dover, Strafford County, New Hampshire.(3210) He was buried in Pine Hill Cemetery in Dover.(3211)

He married Clara B. Sterling, 23 December 1871, in Dover, Strafford County, New Hampshire.(3212) Carrie was born 23 June 1853, in Dover, Strafford County, New Hampshire.(3213) Carrie was the daughter of James Sterling and Clarissa Amazeen. Carrie died of a cerebral hemorrhage, 13 February 1935, in Dover, Strafford County, New Hampshire, at 81 years of age.(3214) She was buried in Pine Hill Cemetery in Dover.(3215)

According to his obituary, Calvin lived in Dover all his life. He was employed as a machinist at the Cocheco Manufacturing Company until he retired a few years before his death. He was usually referred to as "T. Calvin N. Wallingford" or just "Calvin N." in old records, as well as on his gravestone. Shackford states that he was a machinist in the employ of Pacific Mills.(3216) When the 1900 census was taken on June 2nd the family was living at 13 First St. in Dover. Calvin was employed as a machinist. Clara was the mother of six children, five of whom were still living, all five of the children still living at home.(3217) On their daughter Maud's marriage record in 1893 her mother's name was given as Eveline Sterling rather than Clara.

Thomas Calvin Neal Wallingford and Clara B. Sterling had the following children:

Maud D.9 Wallingford was born in Dover, Strafford County, New Hampshire 6 October 1873.(3218) Maud died of hemorrhage from the mouth, 25 February 1923, in Lowell, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, at 49 years of age.(3219) Maud D. Donnelly was buried in Pine Hill Cemetery in Dover.(3220) She married Patrick D. Donnelly, 1 April 1893, in Framingham, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.(3221) At the time of their marriage Patrick was a telephone inspector living in Framingham and Maud was a telephone operator living in Dover, N.H.

Patrick was born about 1868/69, in Ireland.(3222) His marriage record said he was age 24, born in Ireland to Patrick and Catherine (McKeever) Donnelly. His mother's maiden name may have been McKeaver. Patrick was the son of Patrick Donnelly and Catherine McKeever.

Patrick died in 1923.(3223)

She lived at home and worked as a telephone operator for New England Telephone and Telegraph until her marriage to Patrick, who was a lineman for the same company. They moved to 19 Main Street in Rochester, NH for a brief period of time before returning to Dover. Eventually they moved to Lowell, Mass.(3224) When the 1900 census was taken Maud was living with her parents and siblings in Dover, N.H. and employed as a bookkeeper. Her husband was not listed with her.(3225) They had no children.(3226)

child 767 ii. Harold O. Wallingford was born in Dover, Strafford County, New Hampshire 25 September 1874.(3227) Harold drowned 24 June 1882, in Dover, Strafford County, New Hampshire, at 7 years of age.(3228) He drowned when his sled went through the ice while sledding.(3229) He was buried in Pine Hill Cemetery in Dover.(3230)

child 768 iii. Louisa F. Wallingford was born in Dover, Strafford County, New Hampshire 31 March 1881.(3231) The 1900 census says she was born in May 1881. Louisa died unmarried, of tuberculosis, 12 April 1908, at 27 years of age.(3232) She was buried in Pine Hill Cemetery in Dover.(3233)

Her occupation was given as telephone operator on the 1900 census, when she was still living with her parents in Dover.(3234) She apparently never married, as her name is Wallingford on her gravestone.

child 769 iv. Evelyn S. Wallingford was born in Dover, Strafford County, New Hampshire 12 April 1884.(3235) The 1900 census says she was born in April 1878. Evelyn died in 1963.(3236) She is buried in the Pine Hill Cemetery in Dover, N.H. She married Henry W. French, 28 July 1908, in Dover, Strafford County, New Hampshire.(3237)

Harry was born in 1875.(3238) Harry was the son of Marquis D. French and Emily J. Jones. Harry died of colon cancer, 25 February 1932, in Dover, Strafford County, New Hampshire.(3239) He is buried in the Pine Hill Cemetery in Dover, N.H.

Her occupation was given as bookkeeper on the 1900 census, when she was still living with her parents in Dover.(3240) According to her father's 1918 obituary they lived in East Lynn, Mass. Her brother Walter's 1926 obituary said she lived in Lynn, Mass.

child + 771 vi. Kirk Byron Wallingford was born 21 September 1891.
