On 6 July 1870 the family was enumerated in the 1870 census of Watervliet, Michigan, not far from where her parents lived. Charles was a 35-yera old store clerk born in Vermont, while Ann was a 32-year old housekeeper born in Ohio. Their daughter "Cora" was 10, born in Michigan, and attended school. The value of their real estate was $1000 and their personal estate $250.(2835) The record of Ann's death gave "Real Estate Dealer's" as her occupation, which may have been shortened from "Real Estate Dealer's Wife".
