He married Lydia Randall.(3010) Amos and Lydia were cousins. If their respective descents are in here correctly, they were second cousins. She was the daughter of Samuel Randall and Ann Wallingford.

Amos fought in the Civil War. In August 1861, as a resident of Berwick, Maine, he enlisted as a private in the 3rd N.H. Regiment, Co. I. He was mustered out on 23 August 1864. At a later date his post office address was East Rochester, N.H.(3012) They lived in Berwick near the Lebanon town line. In addition to the children listed below (order uncertain) they had a son who died young.(3013)
