He married Sally McCrillis, 14 February 1850, in Lebanon, York County, Maine. They were married by the Elder David Blaisdell.(2997) They filed their marriage intention in Berwick on 24 January 1850 and it was "certified" there on 12 February.(2998) They were both from Lebanon when they got married.
Sally was born 1 April 1829, in Lebanon, York County, Maine.(2999) (Calculated from age at death of 65y 4m 7d) Sally was the daughter of John McCrillis and Mary Rankin.
Sally died of typhoid fever, 8 August 1894, in Rochester, Strafford County, New Hampshire, at 65 years of age.(3000) Her daughter Mary died of typhoid five days earlier.
Chamberlain's "Lebanon Genealogies" doesn't mention Sally as a daughter of John and Mary (Rankins) McCrillis, but Sally's death record does say they were her parents.
Soon after they were married the 1850 census found Lafayette and Sally living in Lebanon, Maine on a farm worth $1400. This was in the area of town sometimes called "Wallingford City" due to the large number of Wallingford families in the area.(3001) He was living in Lebanon about 1880 and moved to East Rochester, N.H.(3002)

Mary died of typhoid fever, 3 August 1894, in East Rochester, Strafford County, New Hampshire.(3004) Her mother died of typhoid five days later. She may have married Robert Willey.(3005) She was single with the surname Wallingford when she died so the marriage reported by the Wallingford Genealogy looks suspicious.
