Thomas was the son of John Hardy and Mary Jackman. Thomas died 11 March 1771, in Bradford, Essex County, Massachusetts.(641) He was baptized 17 March 1689 in Bradford, Essex County, Massachusetts.(642) Thomas had five children by his first wife Rose. They were admitted to the Bradford Church 19 September 1713/4. There were three adult Thomas Hardy's in Bradford in the 1720s and the use of Jr., Sr., and 3rd appears to be inconsistent among them. child 139 ii. Jonas Hardy was born in Bradford, Essex County, Massachusetts 19 October 1721.(648) Jonas died after 1764. (When his last child was born.) There exists no record of his marriage, and it is possible that he married twice. He had at least eight children by his one or two wives, and served in the French and Indian War. No record exists of his death or of the deaths of either of his wives.(649)

child 145 viii. Deborah Hardy was born in Bradford, Essex County, Massachusetts 11 December 1734.(664) A Deborah Hardy married in Bradford 24 February 1757 Joseph Bailey, but according to William B. Ladd, historian and genealogist of Groveland, Mass. our Deborah Hardy died 8 June 1736.(665) The Ancestry of Samuel Blanchard Ordway makes no mention of this 1736 death. This Joseph Bailey may have been the one baptized in Newbury, Mass. on 26 June 1737, son of Joseph Bailey. Joseph and Deborah (Hardy) Bailey had three children born in Bradford between 1760 and 1764.(666)
