She married twice. She married first, Calvin Stone, 25 December 1826, probably in Marlborough, N.H..(2341) Calvin was born 10 June 1801, in Marlborough, Cheshire County, New Hampshire.(2342) Calvin was the son of Calvin Stone and Mehitable Dodge. Calvin died 20 January 1864, probably in Marlborough, N.H..(2343) They lived on the family farm in Marlborough, N.H. In the autumn of 1861, at the age of 60, he enlisted in Co. F, 6th Regiment N.H. Volunteers, the enlistment papers giving his age as 44. He served until 11 May 1863 when he was discharged for disability. Broken down by the hardships of military service at so advance an age, he died within the year.(2344)

She married second, Aaron Brigham, 1 May 1867, probably in Marlborough, N.H..(2345) Aaron was born 20 October 1797, probably in Alstead, N.H..(2346) Aaron was the son of Stephen Brigham and Louisa Howe. Aaron died 16 February 1876, in Marlborough, Cheshire County, New Hampshire.(2347) Aaron Brigham settled in Alstead and raised a family there with his first wife, and only late in life did he move to Marlborough and marry the widow Stone.(2348) More on the children of Calvin and Elvira Stone can be found in the history of Marlborough, N.H., p.640-2.

child 529 i. Charles A.8 Stone was born in Marlborough, Cheshire County, New Hampshire 18 November 1827.(2349) Charles died unmarried, 14 June 1845, at 17 years of age.(2350)

Harriet Elvira Stone was born in Marlborough, Cheshire County, New Hampshire 31 July 1829.(2351) Harriet died 27 December 1914, in Dublin, Cheshire County, New Hampshire.(2352) She married Capt. Henry Curtis Piper, 6 November 1851, in Marlborough, Cheshire County, New Hampshire.(2353) This was Henry Piper's second marriage.

Henry was born 1 February 1823, in Dublin, Cheshire County, New Hampshire.(2354) Henry was the son of Col. Rufus Piper and Anne Gowing. Henry died 4 June 1894, in Dublin, Cheshire County, New Hampshire.(2355) Harriet and Henry resided in Dublin, N.H. where he was a schoolteacher, farmer and housewright, served as selectman for 12 years, on the school committee 30 years, and as a representative to the state Legislature. He attained the rank of captain in the 12th New Hampshire Militia. They had two children born in Dublin.(2356)

child 531 iii. George Hildreth Stone was born in Marlborough, Cheshire County, New Hampshire 3 May 1831.(2357) George died 25 September 1864. He was severely wounded at the battle of Opequan (or Winchester), Virginia on the 19th and died from his wounds six days later.(2358) He married Martha E. Platt, 12 May 1859, in Marlborough, Cheshire County, New Hampshire.(2359) Martha was the daughter of David Platt. Her father was from England. During the Civil War he enlisted in Co. C., 14th N.H. Volunteers on 12 August 1862. On 22 September 1862 he was appointed sergeant. On 30 October 1863 he was commissioned second lieutenant of Co. I, and on 27 May 1864 was promoted to first lieutenant. He was killed during the war. They had one child who died in infancy.(2360)

child 532 iv. Solon W. Stone was born in Marlborough, Cheshire County, New Hampshire 5 May 1834.(2361) He married twice. He married first, Maria S. Clapp, 9 January 1858, in Marlborough, Cheshire County, New Hampshire.(2362) Maria was born 21 July 1839, in Marlborough, Cheshire County, New Hampshire.(2363) Maria was the daughter of Franklin Clapp and Roxanna Tenney. Maria died 18 April 1876, in Keene, Cheshire County, New Hampshire.(2364) He married second, Lauretta P. Richardson, 10 July 1879, in Keene, Cheshire County, New Hampshire.(2365) Lauretta was born 10 November 1848, in Rochester, Vt..(2366) Lauretta was the daughter of Benjamin Richardson and Elvira Daniels. Lauretta died after about 1917. She was still living in Keene when the Gregory Stone genealogy, published in 1918, was written. Solon lived in Marlborough until 1875 when he moved to Keene. He was a traveling salesman and had two children by each of his wives. His middle name may have been Wallingford, since one of his grandsons was named Solon Wallingford Stone.(2367)

Mary Elizabeth Stone was born in Marlborough, Cheshire County, New Hampshire 19 June 1840.(2368) Mary died 15 March 1892, in Milford, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire.(2369) She married David Heald, 22 October 1862, in Marlborough, Cheshire County, New Hampshire.(2370) David was born 6 October 1832, in Nelson, Cheshire County, New Hampshire.(2371) David was the son of Oliver Heald and Patty Wright. They settled in Milford, N.H. where David manufactured furniture and they had six children.(2372)

child 535 vii. Ida M. Stone was born probably in Marlborough, N.H. 24 November 1849.
