21. Judith3 Wallingford (John2, Nicholas1) was born in Bradford, Essex County, Massachusetts in March 1699/1700.(495)

She married Amos Howard, 20 July 1721, in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts.(496) Additional verification comes from the will of Edward Richardson of Newbury, Mass. dated 26 March 1755. Edward died childless but several other relatives and non-relatives are mentioned. In the latter category is "Judith Howard, of Boston, formerly Judith Wallingford". This will hasn't been checked yet. Only an abstract has been seen on a Richardson website.

There is no conclusive evidence tying the Judith who married Amos Howard to the daughter of John and Mary (Tuttle) Wallingford. The connection is purely one of probability, given that there is no other available Judith. According to the LDS Ancestral File Edward Howard and Martha Rowe were married in Dover, N.H. 22 August 1689, which might explain how Judith, who was from Dover originally, met Amos (assuming Edward and Martha are her parents). The fact that Edward Richardson of Newbury knew them is another connection, since Judith's family was from Newbury. Amos and Judith are ancestors of both Presidents Bush through their son Ebenezer.

Judith Wallingford and Amos Howard had the following children:

child 105 i. Amos4 Howard was born in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts 25 November 1721.(497) He married twice. He married first, Charity Downs.(498) Amos and Charity had no children.(499)

Charity was the daughter of Thomas Downs and Sarah Ham. Charity died by 1752. Amos had his first child by his second wife in 1752.

He married second, Sarah Damm, by 1752.(500) Amos may have moved to Somersworth, N.H. The records of Somersworth schoolmaster Joseph Tate include the following entry:

Mr. Amos Howards whose 1st Wifes Name was Charity Downs Own Aunt to ye 2nd whose Name was Sarah Damm. None by ye 1st Wife. 2nd. Amos Howard Born May ye 5th 1752. Judith. Samuel. Enoch. Charity. Pomfret.(501),

The names of Judith, Samuel and Enoch among his children are strong indications that this is the same Amos Howard who was son of Amos and Judith (Wallingford) Howard.

child 106 ii. Judith Howard was born in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts 18 November 1723.(502) Judith died 16 June 1775, in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts.(503) She was buried in the Rollinsford Cemetery, and the stone added that she died "in Boston". She married Samuel Larrabee, 9 July 1741, in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts.(504)

child 107 iii. Samuel Howard was born in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts 15 July 1725.(505)

child 108 iv. Enoch Howard was born in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts 2 March 1727.(506)

child 109 v. Ebenezer Howard was born in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts 12 October 1730.(507) Ebenezer died about 1783, in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. His record in the LDS Family Search Pedigree Resource File on the Internet says he died in Boston between 15 June 1782 and 13 April 1784, which sound like probate dates. He married Martha Goffe, after 26 April 1750, probably in Boston, Mass.. They filed an intention to marry in Boston on that date.

Martha was born 1 April 1733, in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts.(508) Martha was the daughter of William Goffe and Abigail Richardson. Martha died after 1807. Ebenezer and Martha were ancestors of the Presidents Bush.

child 110 vi. Nathaniel Howard was born in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts 17 June 1733.(509)

child 111 vii. Elizabeth Howard was born in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts 17 November 1735.(510)

child 112 viii. Thomas Howard was born in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts 25 April 1737.(511)
