1. Wilhelm¹ Schmelzer was born in Bad-Pyrmont, Waldeck-Pyrmont, (now Germany) say 1810.

He married a woman named Louisa, say 1832. Louisa was born say 1812, in Bad-Pyrmont, Waldeck-Pyrmont, (now Germany). Wilhelm and Louisa's names come from the death certificate of their son Henry. Henry's listing in the 1880 census of Cambridgeport, Mass. said that he was born in Piermont, Germany, as were his parents.⁽⁵⁰³⁾

Wilhelm Schmelzer and Louisa had the following child:

+ 2 i. Heinrich Julius² Schmelzer was born about 12 June 1840.
