4. Joseph⁴ Evans (Joseph³, Robert², Robert¹) was born probably in Dover, Strafford County, New Hampshire 28 March 1708. Joseph died about 1786.

He married Elizabeth Hanson. Elizabeth was born 12 November 1707, in Dover, Strafford County, New Hampshire. Elizabeth was the daughter of Benjamin Hanson and Elizabeth Trask. Elizabeth died 24 December 1796, at 89 years of age.

Joseph Evans and Elizabeth Hanson had the following child:

5 i. Mercy⁵ Evans was born about 1742. Mercy died 25 January 1828, in Somersworth, Strafford County, New Hampshire, at 85 years of age. She married Samuel Hussey, 3 May 1769, in Dover, Strafford County, New Hampshire. Date of marriage recorded in Master Tate's Diary, History of Rollinsford, p.185.

Samuel was born 12 December 1742. Samuel was the son of Joseph Hussey and Elizabeth Robinson. Samuel died 17 April 1814, at 71 years of age. (See Samuel Hussey for the continuation of this line.)

She was christened 1742 in Dover, Strafford County, New Hampshire.
