3. James³ Harrold (John², James¹) was born on the island of Gairsay, parish of Evie and Rendall, Orkney Islands, Scotland about 1810. James died after June 4, 1872, at approximately 61 years of age.

He married Jean Craigie, 11 March 1834, in the parish of Evie & Rendall, Orkney Islands, Scotland.⁽¹⁹¹⁾ Jean was born about 1811, in the Parish of Rendall, possibly on the Island of Gairsay in that parish, Orkney Islands, Scotland.⁽¹⁹²⁾ Jean was the daughter of William Craigie and Margaret Shearer. Jean died 15 October 1866, in Kirkwall, Orkney Islands, Scotland, at 55 years of age.⁽¹⁹³⁾

James Harrold and Jean Craigie had the following child:

Mary Craigie⁴ Harrold was born in Sandwick, Orkney Islands, Scotland 27 July 1846.⁽¹⁹⁴⁾ Mary died 23 May 1931, in Melrose, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, at 84 years of age.⁽¹⁹⁵⁾ She married James Christie Craigie, 4 June 1872, in Edinburgh, Scotland.⁽¹⁹⁶⁾ James was born 29 December 1852, in Kirkwall, Orkney Islands, Scotland.⁽¹⁹⁷⁾ James was the son of William Baikie Craigie and Mary Rae Bain. James died 11 April 1912, in Medford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, at 59 years of age.⁽¹⁹⁸⁾ (See James Christie Craigie for the continuation of this line.)
