Tracing the ancestral lines of the Brumley and Chapman families has proven to be a difficult task. Much of the problem arises from the fact that the families became fragmented and dispersed across the country. It is further complicated because family records are rather sparse. This, combined with the loss of some of the public records during the Civil War, makes tracing the migration of the families across the southern states quite a challenge.
These pages represent what I, with the aid of other researchers,
have been able to find concerning my wife's ancestral families. The
material on the Crawford and Land families was supplied by a researcher
who; although he claimed to have documentation, he extracted the documentation
before sending it to me. So, anyone with documentation for
these families and willing to share it; .... I will readily accept it and
post it here.
