Anna Louise White Teeter, my grandmother (1899 NY - 1976 NY) wife of William Hymes Teeter (1883 NY - 1965 NY)

This file has corrections and input pertinent to TEETER KIN and various families, along with my notes and additions.

Per input of MICHAEL TUNISON: William and Mary (Teeter) Hymes' son was Edgar Jahiel Hymes, who married Lela Church Snyder. They lived in Newfield, NY. Edgar and Lela's daughter was my grandmother, Gyda Mary Hymes, who married Frank Abram Tunison. They lived in Trumansburg, NY. Frank and Gyda's eldest son was Lewis Edgar Tunison, my father, who married Jean Shirley Wiggins. All of them lived in Trumansburg. My sister, Susan Jean Tunison, and I were raised in Trumansburg. I am a member of Sons of the American Revolution (male version of DAR). I found your "correction" showing Christopher Keller as father of Christina Keller who married Conrad Teeter. I agree. Christopher Keller did serve the American Cause during the Revolution. The father of William M. Hymes was Edgar W. Hymes, b 28 Aug 1823. I haven't been able to discover anything about his parents, but suspect it was either Jacob Hymes of Ontario Co NY, or more likely William Hymes of Cayuga Co NY. I found them in the 1810 census. There was a George Hymes in Tompkins Co. in the 1820 census. REPLY: Thank you MICHAEL TUNISON for your valued input!

Input from DON CAPLINGER regarding Jacob and Cattrean Rice Teeter AND her remarriage to Sausman: At end of paragraph, children show as of Peter and Cattrean Rice Teeter Sausaman. REPLY: Children of Peter and Cattrean Rice Teeter; and thus next marriage would show children of Cattrean Rice Teeter Sausaman and husband.

Regarding William, son of Daniel and Cath LaBar Teeter: Shows daughter, Lavina, born 1843. Don has seen as 1834.

Regarding John, son of Henry and Wynche Sly Teeter, who married Julia Bloom b. 30 Sep 1799 d. 4 Feb 1813. That makes her 14 years of age when she died after having a number of children. REPLY: Likely should read 1831.

Regarding Sly Teeter (1810-65) and marriages. He is shown as being married to Electa White and then in next paragraph, to Polly White and Electa Tichenor. REPLY: Taken as found from manuscript records.

HARTSOUGHs and DUNHAMs connect to my SMITH family. My Annanias SMITH married Mary HARTSOUGH born August 31, 1768 daughter of Zachariah and Sylvia HARTSOUGH. They had 7 children. My great-great Grandmother was Catherine LEONARD born 1800 who married William SMITH born ca 1794 in NJ son of Joshua and Sarah. They moved to Hector, NY about 1800. William died in 1820 and Catherine married (2) Ambrose DUNHAM who was born 1794 in NJ son of Thomas DUNHAM and Anna CORRELL. Ambrose and Catherine removed to the Town of Howard, Steuben Co. about 1824.

My (Mary Smith Jackson) 4th great Grandfather was William BARBER. I only know that he died in Hector, NY 1830 and that he came from Dutchess Co. He was living there in 1790. His wife was Charity possibly BAKER. Their daughter Mary Ann married my 3rd great Grandfather Christopher MEEKS and they also removed to Howard, NY. I am still trying to find out where and when William was born and his parentage. REPLY: Thanks to MARY S JACKSON for her valued input.
