* * * BEIDELMAN ~ DATA * * *

as part of TEETER KIN, 2003, genealogy by Laurie S. Dunham

Farm of Popular Ridge, Cayuga Co NY near cemetery where Anne G Painter is buried (not foto of PA).

Many thanks to BETTY B BOYLE, of PA, the major contributor of the following said Beidelman documentation, to which I have added notes.

See the Teeter family tree: Henry Teeter married Elizabeth Beidelman (d/o Jacob and Susanna Hockday Beidelman) who had Conrad Teeter who married Christine Keller (d/o Christopher and Susanna Bossert Keller). Henry Teeter was the son of Conrad and Catherine Weber Teeter.

In the middle of June, 1730, the sailing ship "Thistle of Glasgow" under Captain Colin Dunlap left Rotterdam for America. Leaving Dover on June 19, 1730, and, after a 72 day journey, the ship arrived in Philadelphia on August 29, 1730.

Among the passengers was the family BEUTELMANN:

Valentine Beutelmann (the father), Anna Clara Biermann Beutelmann (the mother), and at least three children. The boys were: ELIAS, born Sept. 27, 1707; JOHANN LEONARD, born Oct. 3, 1716; and *JOHANN JACOB BEUTELMANN, born JULY 1, 1720 (Laurie S. Dunham's line); the last two boys were too young to sign ship register.

The family had lived in Assenheim now Hochdorf in Germany. With the family also came Dietrich Beutelmann, who was a nephew of Valentine, and who settled in Berks County. The family would eventually settle in Bucks County, We don't know what happened to the parents but can account for what happened to the boys.

JOHANN *JACOB BEUTELMANN b 1720 married SUSANNA HOCKDAY. Jacob and Susanna Beidlemann (aka Beutelmann) are the parents of Elizabeth Beidelman Teeter (1748-1804) who came to NY about 1798 and settled at Teetertown (now Lansingville) NY (wife of Henry Teeter 1743-1804).

David Beidelman born 1751-1826 married Margaret Stocker, he son of Johann Lenhert (Leonard) and Anna M Beidelman (info from Easton PA). Also, a L. Beidelman 1740-1819 of Bucks Co PA, along with Leonhard Beidelman baptised 1806 as son of Elias and Catherine. Also, an Elias Beutelman married 1781 Maria Quinery, at NJ. And, Johannes Bechtel died 1777 (b 1690) from Weinheim, Palantinate near Frankerthal German; his parents having died when he was but 9, he arriving then, to Heidelberg PA. Maria Boeckel born 1746 Heidelberg PA d/o Ger Frederick and Anna Elizabeth Boeckel, married 1783 a Mr. Rohrback. Conrad Teeter, on 7/24/1767, bought 25 acres ajacent Michael Butz, James Logan, and Elias Peyldelman. George Bosser married Elizabeth Rohr. Phillip Bosser married Maria Heller; he died 1804 at Genoa NY, and had Will. See Teeter ancestry.

Per Moravian records, of Easton PA: Eliz Beidelman 1743/8 - 1804 Teter. I also find Elias Peydylman (Beadlemann) at Springfield PA. Elias Beidelman 1779 at Milford, Bucks Co PA, Twnship Bucks; and in 1790 at Upper Saucon PA, with Leonard listed as guardian of children.

No one really knows where Valentine and family lived here in America. Not until later. Johann Jacob Beutelmann was born in Assenheim, Germany on July 1, 1720. He was a liver and his wife was Susanna Catherina Hockday. On Aug. 8, 1751 lightning struck his home and he was killed and buried on his land. He left behind his wife and 2 babies: *Elizabeth Beutelman b. July 18, 1748 (who married Henry Teter); and Daniel Beutelman b. Nov. 3/16, 1750 (who married Maria Eva Opp).

There is a document (Betty Boyle has copy of) in Doylestown, Bucks County, PA, in the courthouse, which reads, as follows:

March Orphan Court of 1750: ELIAS BIDLEMAN (spelling changed frequently; to Boydleman, etc.); Petition --- 54. ...To his majesties Justices holding an Orphan Court at Newtown for the County of Bucks the --- Day of March 1752...The Petition of Elias Boydleman humbly Showeth That Your Petitioner the Eighth Day of August Last at Philadelphia Administor upon the Estate of his Brother *Jacob Boydleman Deceased your---------Prays that you will please to appoint two -----? ... as Such as your Petitioner will nominate to you to be Guardians for the children of the Deceased and your Petitioner as, in Duty Bound will Ever Pray.

... signed by Elias Beidelman (written in German).

Names of the children and their ages: Elizabeth Boydleman, aged 3 1/2 years old; Daniel Boydleman, aged 1 year and 4 months.

The names of the men present: Stephen Twinning; Joseph Dennis; Conrad Losbach; and Michael Pots.

It is so ordered that the above four men be appointed guardians to take care of the said minors and their estates.

Daniel has a long and interesting line. A descendant, Wayne Hannah, of Washington State has done a lot of research. He and Betty Boyle have been in touch regarding the Beidelmann families, for years.

Daniel Beutelmann was born in Nov. 1750; he married Maria Eva Opp (he died about Aug. 7, 1838). He purchased the land which had belonged to his father Johann Jacob who got the land through a Patent dated Oct. 18, 1749 (recorded in Philadelphia in Patent Book A Vol. 14 page 325J). This land was located in Lower Saucon Township, consisting of three tracts which Daniel eventually sold to Valentine Opp, on Jan. 7, 1785.

Daniel and Maria Opp Beutelmann were the parents of eight children:

Elizabeth; Jacob; John; Valentine: Abraham; Joseph; Catharine; and Christianna.

MICHAEL DIETER (DITTHART) arrived in 1746 on the ship "Ann Galley"; he settled in Springfield Township, Bucks County, Pa; he died between Dec. 14, 1759 and June 5, 1761; he married SYBILLA lnu. When he died, his widow sold their land to Elias Beidelman (Betty Boyle's line), having advertised said sale in a newspaper on June 5, 1761 (Betty Boyle has copy of this transaction). Said document mentions daughters of Michael and Sybella Dieter, who were Clara Savitz (wife of Joseph) as innkeeper; and Catharine as wife of Philip Bahl yeoman; and Elizabeth wife of Christian Dull, of Gwynedd, a saddler. Michael Dieter got land by patent dated Dec 16, 1757. It was located in Springfield Township, Bucks Co PA, 117 acres and 72 perches, including a tenement and messuage; it sold for 800 pounds on Dec. 15, 1773 and was recorded in Deed Book 22, page 55 on Oct. 19, 1785.

Elizabeth Weber 1728-79 Northampton PA md Michael Butz died 1779 and remarried Michael Messenger who died 1791. I find a Catherine 1769-1849 as wife of George Butz (she could be a Teeter).
