Information about Samuel (2) Not very much is known about Samuel Teaster (2). However, Samuel Teaster is listed as owning 2 slaves in the year, 1840, in a census labeled "Slave Holders - Ashe County." Evidently, Samuel was fairly well off, since slaves were very expensive.
He is also mentioned in the book History of Western North Carolina - Chapter XII - in the excerpt "James Hix and James Tester, were drowned in what is still known as the Hix "Hole" in Watauga river below Sheriff Baird's farm, and Sam Tester rode his bull into the water in order to recover the two bodies, about 1835. "
Both of these references have to be about Samuel Teaster (2) since Samuel (1) died in 1821.
