John Kieler and his wife Katharina née Hupe (1805-1888) came from Germany to America in 1855 with their youngest children, and settled in Jamestown Township in Grant County, Wisconsin. John Kieler was a stone mason by trade, but the Kielers mainly farmed after their arrival in the United States.

- Gertrude (Kieler) Richter (1830-ca.1862) - Gertrude Kieler married John Richter (1830-1916) in Germany, and they came to America circa 1852, settling in Jamestown Township, Grant County, Wisconsin. Gertrude died there, leaving five children, and John Richter then married Elizabeth Neid (1838-1912), and the family moved to Potosi, Wisconsin, where they farmed.
- Dorothea (Kieler) Richard Klaus (1832-1904) - Dorothea Kieler married Joseph Richard (ca.1885-1864), and they came to America from Germany, settling first in Jamestown Township but then moving to Paris Township in Grant County, Wisconsin, where they farmed. After Joseph Richard died, Dorothea married Joseph Klaus (ca. 1832-after 1880).
- Lawrence Kieler (1837-1920) - Lawrence Kieler married Elizabeth Collogan (1844-1922) in Grant County, Wisconsin, between 1860 and 1864. They farmed there until 1889, when they moved their family Greene County, Iowa, at Grand Junction, where they farmed in Dawson Township.

- Frank Kieler (1840-1914) - Frank Kieler married Margareth Koethe (1852-1929), and they lived in Jamestown Township in Grant County, Wisconsin.
- George Kieler (1845-1931) - George Kieler married Dorothea Montag (1849-1927), and they lived in Jamestown Township in Grant County, Wisconsin, and the village of Kieler received the family name when George established the first post office there.

- Louisa (Kieler) Schumacher (1847-1938) - Louisa Kieler married Henry Schumacher (1844-1915), and they lived at East Dubuque, Illinois, where Henry, a Civil War veteran, was engaged in the lumber business, then the livery business, and finally a grocery.

Mathilda Uthe was born to Frank and Barbara (Kieler) Uthe at Dickeyville, Iowa. In 1884 Mathilda Uthe married George Schumacher (1859-1925). George Schumacher was born in October 1859 in New York State to Martin and Theresa (Schumacher) Schumacher. George and Mathilda Schumacher lived at East Dubuque, Illinois, where George was engaged in the lumber business (for a time with his brother Henry Schumacher, who was married to Mathilda's aunt Louisa née Kieler). After Mathilda died, George Schumacher married Catherine Fuerstenberg (1866-after 1925), and George and Catherine moved their family across the Mississippi River to Dubuque, Iowa.

Anna (Schumacher) Gerken (1895-1967)

Anna Schumacher was born to George and Mathilda (Uthe) Schumacher in East Dubuque, Illinois. Anna Schumacher married Ewald Gerken (1895-1956) in 1919 at Dubuque, Iowa. Ewald Gerken was born in New Vienna, Iowa, to Henry and Anna (Winter) Gerken. The Gerkens lived at Dubuque, where Ewald worked at Morrison Brothers, where Anna's brother Frank Schumacher was general superintendent. Ewald later worked at John Deere in Dubuque, where he was a foreman in the pattern-making department. Ewald and Anna were members of Holy Ghost Church in Dubuque. Ewald Gerken died in 1956, Anna Gerken died in 1967, and they were buried at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Dubuque.

- John G. Schumacher (1888-1942) - John "Jack" G. Schumacher married Mayme M. Wilhelm (1904-1998). They lived at Dubuque, Iowa, where Jack worked at Morrison Brothers. From 1910 to 1926, Jack had served in the U.S. Navy, on the U.S.S. Utah.
