MISS KERKHOFF AN AUTUMN BRIDE
Married to Mr. Gerhard Tegeler at Petersburg Tuesday Morning October 18.
The marriage of Mr. Gerhard Tegeler of Dyersville, Iowa, and Miss Rose Kerkhoff of Petersburg, Iowa, occurred in SS. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church in Petersburg last Tuesday morning, October 18, 1910, at eight o'clock. Rev. Father Joseph Nacke officiated at the nuptial ceremony and also read the mass which followed. Quite a number of relatives and friends were in the church to witness the ceremony. The couple was attended by Miss Louise Kerkhoff, sister of the bride, and Mr. John Tegeler, brother of the groom. The bride's wedding gown was a handsome creation of white messaline silk. She also wore a veil and carried white and pink carnations. Her maid was attired in a gown of blue silk and carried a bouquet of white carnations and roses.
Following the marriage, the couple repaired to the home of the bride's mother, south of Petersburg, where a reception was held throughout the day. A large number of guests were in attendance. A bounteous wedding banquet was served, and the day was spent at the usual festivities. Dancing was a feature of the afternoon, music for which was furnished by the Imperial Orchestra. The young couple were the recipients of a large number of valuable and useful wedding gifts.
The bride is a daughter of Mrs. Mary Kerkhoff and is a popular young lady of the vicinity in which she has grown to charming young womanhood. By her true womanly character, she has merited the high esteem in which she is held by her numerous friends. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Tegeler of this place. He is a young man of sterling character and worth. He has been engaged at farming for some time and has been very successful. The newlyweds will go to house-keeping on the Frank Raker farm south of this city. The Commercial joins the many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Tegeler in wishing them a full measure of health and happiness in their new state of life.
