This
photo (the only one known) of Sackett, Pennsylvania, was taken
by Tim's father
in the 1920's. The family lived there until 1935. There is no town there now,
and all but one of the buildings in this photo are gone. See maps of Sackett,
Pennsylvania at Topozone and Mapquest.
Sackett
Station, where
gas field workers were housed, is located about one-half mile south of
the site of Sackett, PA. Today Sackett Station contains only a compressor stationthe
houses are all gone. Locate Sackett Staion,
Pennsylvania at Topozone. Both
the remains Sackett and Sackett Station are located inside the nationally
known Sackett Oil Fields.
If you know of additional educational of just plain fun Sacket/Sackett-related web sites, please let me (tcsmith@surewest.net) know and I'll include them in this list.
