Married on 29 December 1851 at Acc by J.W. Gillet.  On the same day William Taylor was appointed as the legal guardian for Mary Ann Tyler.  Dennis W. Gray and John Taylor of Charles were also held and firmly bound unto the Commonwealth of Virginia in the sum of One Hundred Dollars.  That they shall well and truly pay and deliver, or cause to be paid and delivered, unto Mary Ann Tyler orphan of Betsy Tyler deceased, all such estate or estates as now is, or are, or hereafter shall appear to be due to the said orphan, etc.  As such that William Taylor became Mary Tyler's guardian before they were married, he gave consent for her, being a minor, to marry him.  In the 1910 census records Mary was listed as living with her son Robert Savage Taylor.  She was listed as a widow who had 8 children with only 4 surviving.
