John and Florence lived and died in the Guilford Neck area.  They both died at a young age.  Florence died first and it is thought that John died of a heart attack.  They are believed to be buried in an unmarked grave site with John's parents off of St. Thomas Road in Clam, Virginia.  Their children were adopted by James and Melissa Annis who lived on Hopeton Road near Guilford Neck.  James and Melissa were both second cousins of John's on his father's side.  James was the son of Sylvester and Rebecca (Taylor) Annis.  Melissa was the daughter of William and Jane (Taylor) Killman.  Rebecca and Jane were daughters of Teagle and Rebecca Taylor.
