Joseph Farye, 250 acs. in Apamattuck Riv., Chas Citty Co., 27 May 1638, p561. W. upon the falls, N. upon land of Thomas Bagwell, a Cr. running between, and upon the N. side of the Riv. opposite land of Nathaniell Tatum. Due for his own Per. Adv., his wife Ann Farye and trans. of 3 pers: Edward Hutchinson, Richard Sadd, John Lewis.

Nathaniell Tatum, 100 acs, on the Appamattucke Riv, Chas Cittie Co, 25 July 1638, p579. S. into the woods, N upon the river, E upon a Cr. parting sd. land from his own 500 acres and W upon the river toward land of John Baker. Due for trans. of his wife Ann and his daughter Mary Tatum.

Walter Chiles, Gent., 813 acs. Chas. City Co., 5 Nov. 1649, page. 193. Lyeing upon the Sly. side of Appomattuck Riv., 200 acs. thereof bounded N.W. upon the river, E.N.E. upon the other dividend of 600 acs., a deep bottom parting it W.S.W. unto a run of water that parteth this from land of Nath. Tatum; the other 613 acres. beg. at the upwards bounds of Mr. Tonstalls land, & W.N.W. upon the river. 200 acs. granted to William Sanders, 10 Oct. 1640 & by him assigned unto Walter Brooke & by Brooke to William Thomas alias Fluellin, & purchased by Chiles of sd. Thomas. The other 613 acs. granted to sd. Chiles 20 Oct. 1642.

Walter Brookes, 460 acs. Chas. City Co., Bristoll Parish, 18 Mar. 1662, p. 230 (143). 160 acs. on Ely. side of the Citty Cr. & where it bounds S. into the woods &c., N. on Appamatocke Riv. 300 acs. at the head thereof, running along the head of Nath. Tatum’s land &c. to heade of John Baker’s land. E. renewal of patent dated 12 Mar. 1653.

John Coleman, 813 acs. Chas. City Co., 18 Mar. 1662, p. 242, (166). S. side of Appamatocke Riv., 200 acs. thereof upon N.W. of Riv., E.N.E. upon the other devdt. of 600 acs., Deepe Bottom parting it, W.S.W. unto a run of water parting this land of Na: Tatum; 613 acs. beg. at upper bounds of Mr. Tunstalls land &c. Granted to Col. Walter Giles 25 Oct. 1652 & by him assigned.

[Note that Nathaniell Tatum had already patented 100 acres on the Appamattucke Riv. in 1638, for transporting his wife Ann and his daughter Mary Tatum.]

Mr. Samuell Tatum, 803 acs. Chas. City Co., in Bristoll Par., at a place known by the name of Warrockbock, 30 Oct. 1686, p. 536. Beg. at John Smith, to Mr. Henry Batt, crossing the 2nd Sw., to land of Hugh Lee, &c. Trans. of 17 pers.

Scott; crossing Warreck Br., &c. Imp. of 21 pers.* Note: "The Governor refused to sign the above patent for that part of it laid on the South side the main Black Water Swamp." Note: Never issued.

[This was probably on 23 Oct. 1690, because the patents listed before and after this record are both dated with that date.]
