MY FAMILY

Latest Research
May, 2006. My latest research involves the family of Cynthia Sildona (Syldonna) Maxham. She is part of the Jensen Tree. Cynthia is my gr. gr. gr. aunt, a sister to my gr. gr. grandfather, Charles Maxham. Charles also named his oldest daughter Cynthia Sildona. I believe that might have been their mother's full name, although I have only seen her records as Cynthia S. (nee Sprague), which the "S" could be for Sildona or Sprague. Cynthia Syldonna married William Bishop and had 3 children; Abner S., who died at age 7, Asa Milton, and Rosa J. Asa M. was married to Emma Littlefield. Asa was in a tragic milk wagon accident and died when he was just 29 years old. His daughter, Ruth Minnie, was not even one year old. Rosa J. married Olin D. Cornwell. They had 2 children, Alfred Lester and Lora. Alfred L. was the president and CEO of Woolworth Company. He married Margaret L. Churchill and they lived in Connecticut, New York and Florida. They had one child they named Bishop. Lora married Edward L. Clark and they lived in Sandy Creek, Oswego, New York. They had one daughter, Alice, who married a Mr. Bancroft.

If you are researching the above family, please contact me and we can share information. I have not yet intergraded this new info on the web site.

Our Roots

The wind starts to blow
and the mighty oak starts to sway
the gales get stronger
taking all the leaves away.

But the oak stands strong,
broken branches on the ground,
when other trees have lost the fight
and fall all around.

For it has roots stretched in the earth
and can't die or cease to be,
for it grows stronger since it's birth.
it is an important part of me.

This strong old tree
with it's branches spread so great,
Is like my family tree,
strength from which I take.

Some roots are strong,
some are weak,
But they all make up that
family I seek.
