He was married to Sarah CRANDEL in 1771 in Maryland. Paul Busey, Sr. is as far a I have been able to trace Bucys in US in our direct line. He ha two wives and 15 children, 7 of whom were known to survive into adulthood. A will dated 30 November, 1824 filed in Cumberland, Allegany Co. MD indicates he owned a tract of land called "Chance". In "Marriages in Ann Arundel Co," marriage listed as being in St. James Parrish.

A Bussey Family Genealogy by Lynn Bussey Guittard (Mrs. Charles I) gives following info:

There is a coat of arms, I think English, given to Robert Bucy (Bussy) who was knighted for bravery in sea battles. It has a twin headed sea dragon. The family came from France to England with some king or other. Robert Bucy in Sussex in 1208. The Bucys that emmigrated to the colonies were not of the nobility.

Earliest Bussey to arrive was George Bussey and Eliz. Bussy who came to VA in 1635, sponsored by Richard and Robert Bennet.

1651 Paul, Henry, and Charles Bussey indentured to Calverts of Baltimore. They worked and became Freemen with land grants in MD. George Bussy came to Calvert Co., MD in 1650.

Not clear from my initial reading of book on film, which of Bussey family above are direct family of Paul Busey, Sr. Children were: Samuel, Sr. BUCY (BUSEY), Nancy BUCY (BUSEY), Lucy BUCY (BUSEY), Edward BUCY (BUSEY), Paul BUCY (BUSEY), Sarah or Salla BUCY (BUSEY) , Mary BUCY (BUSEY).

bullet Asias BUCY (photo) was born in 1833 in Alleghany Co., MD. He died on 15 Mar 1907 in Estherville, Iowa. He was known as Asa. Asias Bucy was born in Allegany County, MD in 1833, moved with his family to Holmes County, Ohio sometime before 1840. After his marriage to Eliza Jane Lore (Lohr) they moved with his sister Sarah Bucy Reynolds to Illinois. From there they went to Hubbard, Iowa and eventually on to Estherville, Iowa.

The trip to Estherville was made early in the spring so that they would be ready to plant crops when the weather was right. The family travelled by sled and was caught in a blizzard. The fingers of the son driving the sled were frozen to the reins and he lost part of several. They found shelter by allowing the horses to have their heads and go where ever they would. A family took them in when the horses found a farm. Helen Robinson believes it was Uncle George who was driving. The year was approximately 1898, when Cora Bucy was 16 years old. Parents: Thomas BUCY and Elizabeth CHANEY.

He was married to Eliza Jane LOHR on 3 Apr 1856 in Millersburg, Ohio. Children were: Martha Angeline BUCY, George P. BUCY, Jesse F. BUCY, Mary C. BUCY, Sarah Olive BUCY, John W. BUCY, Lemuel A. BUCY, Alice May BUCY, Norman Asias BUCY, Charles M. BUCY, Cora Maloa BUCY, Franklin BUCY.
