This is Bill Reynolds a Silent American Hero
Military Chaplain of the Allegheny & Saint
Mary's Cemetery Associations in Lawrenceville PA. Military Veteran Researcher, and both member and on the boards of VFW and American Legion organizations, passed away at the age of 91on Saturday September 5th, 2009.
Bill was the catylist that involved adults and children in placing American Flags on the graves of Veterans in many cemeteries. He himself had been placing flags on Veterans graves at Allegheny and Saint Mary's, as well as countless other cemeteries, for more than 50 years. Bill was on the board of Soldier's and Sailors Memorial Hall in Oakland. His effort over the years to locate burial sites of Veterans of conflicts from the Civil War, Spanish American, WW I, WW II and Vietnam shed light on missing or forgotten Veterans.
If you ever met, or were a friend of Bill, you knew he was chosen to be Heavenbound. There will be a one day viewing at McCabe's Funeral Home Tuesday September 8th, 2-4 and 7-9.
5300 Penn Avenue Pittsburgh 15224 PA (412) 661-3134
A Memorial Service will be at 11:30 AM September 9th, in the Temple of Memories at Allegheny Cemetery.
