Volunteer Lookups

PicoSearch

This site is now completely searchable!

The following is a list of volunteers who have volunteered to help research in Iowa. If you would like to offer your Iowa resources please email Tiffany and I will add you to the list.

Most volunteers do not charge a fee, some charge small fees to cover associated costs. The fees are noted if they were provided. This information is provided as a service to Iowa Researchers. It is up to the volunteer’s sole discretion whether or not they will accept your request. Please do not email me with requests. Contact the specific volunteer with your request.

PLEASE be polite and patient. It often takes quite awhile for a request to be processed by a volunteer. Requests such as: Look up ALL of a particular surname will automatically be discarded. Please keep your requests specific and reasonable.

Working on Fayette County History:
http://www.angelfire.com/ia/fayette2/fayetteindex.htm

In the coming years, I will be placing a lot of new material online regarding
Fayette County History and my related surnames.  I have collected a "ton" of
materials to organize/edit and post.  The stability of the net is in such
question that I will be organizing in such a way as to assume the in the
future I will be able to run a server out of my own home and get long term
control, and then pass my digital records on to someone else.  I have some
history material on Fayette coming together that probably nobody else will
be able to develop due to my background from the area and also interest, but
the time frame is still a long way off.

From: "LaWanda Nepstad" <snepstad@prodigy.net>

I live in Iowa and would be willing to do lookups at the Iowa Genealogy Society Library.  I will do the lookups free and only charge if copies are requested for the copying fee and postage.

People should give details when requesting lookups - whether they need a birth, death, marriage, etc, and an idea of the time period and County.  I have had people request a lookup and give me only a surname.

My name is Terry L. Hacker and I grew up in Carroll County, Iowa.  My family lived near Ralston, Glidden, Lidderdale and Carroll, IA.  I try to make down there as often as possible to look up obituaries, graves, and visit churches.  I have some pictures of the places where I lived, went to school, went to church and some pictures of relative’s farms and/or homes.  I attended grade school at Glidden-Ralston Community Schools, 4th grade was held in Ralston, IA at that time.  I graduated from Carroll High School (the old building) in 1972.
