William Thompson family [he may  have been married to a Frances Mills].  Little is known of this William except that he was born in London Grove, Chester County, Pennsylvania (1750 - 55), and migrated to Washington County, Pennsylvania.

In 1806 he sold his land there and migrated with his sons Aaron, William Jr., and Joseph to Butler County, Ohio where they joined his other son James, who had previously gone there and bought land.  William Sr. died about 1819 leaving his land t o William Jr. who was also to care for his widowed wife.

great grandfather, Edward McEvoy, and his wife, Bridget Bradshaw.  I know they were married in Dubuque, Iowa in December 1865.  Edward came to the United States in March, 1861. What would be the best Catholic Church to go to in Dubuque to try to get baptism information on their early children (1870 or before).  One child, Michael, who died in 1953, was listed as having been born about 1863 in Dubuque.  This is possible, but I'm trying to get confirmation on that. Also, I understand there's a McEvoy Street in Dubuque.  Does anyone know after whom it was named?

name is REAL (Irish). Often spelled many ways however I have advanced enough to know it was spelled REAL for what I am looking for. Thomas F. REAL born July 10, 1897 to Owen d 1923 and Elizabeth (PENNINGTON)d 1906 REAL in Keokuk Lee CO IA. Married Margaret ATKINS Jan. 27 1920 would like to have any census information on these two families. Thomas and Margaret may have moved to Des Moines. I would like to know if Thomas and Margaret had children.  Now my plate of spaghetti!

2. William Edward REAL was born Oct. 1860 in Keokuk Lee Co. IA, still in family household in 1880 census. According to Lee co. records he married Ida THOMPSON (from Hancock Co. IL) August 11 or 12 1882 then married Fannie WELKO Aug. 7 1886.  I found a death notice in the Chicago Tribune Jan. 1913 for William Edward REAL listing one son Leroy Patrick REAL and six COOPER step-children with wife Ada (SARGENT) COOPER. I sent off for a death certificate and obit for Leroy. Now the questions,

Leroy Patrick REAL was born March 17 1897 in Chicago mother Ida THOMPSON. The dates do not match as William was married to WELKO or COOPER by then. Leroy's obit says he was orphaned at an early age and was raised by George and Julia (THOMPSON) HAMRICK of Fountain Green, Hancock Co IL. Another fact William Edward REAL had 4 brother's one who was his twin in Keokuk that I feel would have taken Leroy. Until I had Leroy's death cert. I thought Ida died and William re-married. Then I looked at the THOMPSON sisters, father's obit James Hudson THOMPSON died 1902 in Hancock Co. IL signing the obit was Julia F. HAMRICK and Mrs. Ida A. REAL.

I am confident that all the REAL's in Lee Co IA are related. Looking for REAL in Cook Co IL has been over-whelming! All the Keokuk REAL's are buried together in Oakland Cemetery Old Catholic Section except William Edward and his family. He may be buried at Calvary in Evanston north of Chicago (I have asked for help in Cook Co but after 4 months have not heard back) however Ada COOPER REAL is buried at Ridgeway Maine Township IL. The time line just does not make sense, so close yet so far!  Why, this has all of a sudden become so important is that last Wednesday I found Leroy Patrick REAL's only child living in KS now 82 years old. She has nothing on the REAL family as Leroy drowned when she was 3 years old.

Dewitt C. Akin.  I have census evidence that two of his children, Helena Akin, and Dewitt Akin, Jr. were born in Iowa in 1864 and 1868 respectively so I know that Dewitt lived in Iowa for at least 4 years.

I know that Dewitt C. Akin was born July 4, 1825 in Port Byron, New York and that he married Helena St. John September 1, 1845 in Johnstown, New York.  I know that after they moved to Iowa and lived there for some unknown amount of time, Dewitt and Helena moved back to New York and lived out their lives in Johnstown.

My father's name is Marlin Emery Fuller and I was born in Davenport, Iowa back in 1973.  I have records staing that he used to live in Moline, Illinois at one time and that his family maintained residence there.  He served in the Army around 1972, with his last duty station being Fort Dix, New Jersey.  He did not make a career of the military.  I do not know where he works or whether he is even alive.  My mom and dad divorced when I was 2 ½  My mom later remarried and I was adopted by my dad when I was almost 5, with nocontest or contact from my father, Marlen.  My mom doesn't even know what happened to him.  I am having medical problems which make me yern to find out about him and his side of the family.

Trucks/Trux families of Iowa.  They were early settlers of Iowa coming to the state in about 1836/38 to Davenport, Scott County and later to Clinton County.  Some of the children later went west into Woodbury, Plymouth, Sac, and Carroll counties in Iowa, probably in the 1880's or after. The early family consisted of Ruth --- Trucks d. 01 Mar 1843 in Davenport.  A daughter Mary - Trucks DOD unkown and 3 sons Abraham who died in 1838, Michael who died  in 1876 and my g g g grandfather John J Trucks. He farmed in Clinton County and died in !877.  There may have been other children who did not come to Iowa from Richland County, Ohio.

I now have updated information on a tank wagon rollover in late Jan 1920.

Lewis (Louis) Williamson drove a delivery oil wagon and was a salesman for an

oil company out of Sioux City, IA. The wagon overturned, crushing him. The accident occurred near Climbing Hill, IA. The relative, who related this story to me, worked from 1937-1940 as an assistant postmaster in Hornick, IA. The then postmaster in Hornick, Lester Harrison (J.L.H.), lived in that area all of his life and he remembered of that happening near his home.
