  Research Notes:

John and Mary were both born in Rockingham County Virginia, Page County was formed from a part of Rockingham County in 1831, so from this date on we find the Eppard's in both counties, depending on which side of Naked Creek they happened to live (Naked Creek was the line of division).

John was a farmer, and he and Mary undoubtedly farmed a part of George's land holdings. They were blessed with ten children, two of which died in infancy. In 1855, John passed away quite suddenly, leaving Mary a widow with eight children, some standing grain, and a small possession of household goods. We learn of these possessions because John died without leaving a will.
