My family is from NC, Orange/Alamance to be exact, although we can trace it back to Botetourt Co, VA to a
David Tate born ABT. 1730 in England ,married ABT.1752 to Catherine THORNTON born ABT. 1734  in Botetourt Co VA.
They had ten children that I know of:
Joseph TATE b: ABT. 1753 in VA,
Edward TATE b: 19 AUG 1755 in Botetourt Co VA,
David TATE b: ABT. 1759 in Augusta Co VA,
John TATE b: 6 AUG 1761 in Botetourt Co VA,
Thomas TATE b: ABT. 1763,
Charles TATE b: ABT. 1765,
Robert TATE b: ABT. 1768,
Isaac TATE b: ABT. 1771,
Samuel TATE b: ABT. 1773,
William TATE b: ABT. 1775.
David Tate died  AFT. 1810 in Botetourt Co VA.
I am decended from his son Joseph Tate Birth: ABT. 1753 in VA, Death: 1826 in Orange
Co NC.
He Married: 17 FEB 1783  in Botetourt Co VA to Mary LLOYD b: ABT. 1758. They had nine known children:
