* {5} Capt. Lt. William Tate: His will 12 Sept 1787 Camben, Kershaw Co., S.C. Prob 30 1792, to wife Elizabeth one third of estate and to my nephew William Tate son of my eldest brother Sameul tate of Kingdom of Ireland two thirds of estate. Wit. Wm. Brown, Hohn Kershaw and Zachariah Carty. Elizabeth Tate Will 31 August 1816 Camden, S.C prob. 14 November 1822 to: James Chesnut Esp. and Col. Will Nixon in trust for my niece Jame Lane wife of Samuel Lane and for her sons, William and James Tate infant sons of William Tate until they arrive at age 21 years. William Tate the nephew died prior to 1816 left two sons who were not of age in 1816.

* {3} James Tate Esp: His will 4 June 1807 Pendleton, SC. Pro. Anderson Co., 13 April 1808 "aged and infirm., wife Anne, the plantation, negroes etc. Ex. wife Anne and son Samuel Tate. "I allow my son Samuel Tate and wife Anne, if ever my son William Tate should come into this country and be in necessity, that they from their shares in my estate would give him a comfortable way of living during his life time. "Samuel Tate to pay unto John Burton three hundred dollars to buy a home, If any fo the heirs of my sister Ann sho was married to William McConnel should apppear I allow my son Samuel to give them ten pounds. To my two dtrs, Margaret and Elizabeth by deed of gift.

* {3} Nancy Ann Campbell Tait: The widow Tate held land in Frankin Co., GA on which Samuel Tate paid taxes 1818-1820. She executed her will15 Feb1819 Franklin Co., Ga, prob. 12 August 1824, "To my son William Tate, to Nancy Burton, Anna Victory Tate, William B. Tate. To my gr.son James Tate one surveyors compass and chain, to gr.dtr Catherine K. Tate a negro man Prince. To gr.son Thomas S. Tate negro boys Duda and Nelson. To gr.dtr Froances C.Tate negro boy Billy Buck to her. My four gr. dtrs, Eliza, Ann, Catherine, and Frances Tate. Ex. Samuel Tate, wit Thomas P. and William W. Carnes.
