David Machlin/Macklin Tate Sr.
b c. 1790/98 Orange Co NC. Son of Robert and Martha (?) Tate. He served
in a Company commanded by his uncle Capt. Richard Tate, Brigade of Tn,..
27 Sept. 1814. He was a cpl. He md. 28 Aug. 1817 in Wilson Co. in Wilson
Co, Tn Elizabeth Clampett/Clampitt. He Migrated to St. Clair CO., Ill.
They had three boys, Robert, Ezekiel and David who came to Jefferson Co.,
Ill and settled near Dix and Texico. David remarried to Sarah Ann Hitchcock
on 30 April 1846. On 18 Dec 1853 a Mrs. Sarah Tate married Martin Cubber
in Monroe Co., Ill, so its belive that David Tate died between Feb. 1852
and Dec 1853 in Monroe Co. Ill.
