Joseph owned and operated a Boat Dock named "Joe Morris Boat Landing" on the Little Red River near Judsonia, White County, Arkansas. Joe had an Apple and Peach Orchard and he would take the fruit to Judsonia and Seacry and sell it on the
street. He also, worked at the sawmill near Kensett. His wife, Carrie would dry the apples and peaches and make fried apple and peach pie. Joe rented his land from a Mr. Middleton, who also had fruit trees. Julius Nier lived near Joseph.
Julius came from Germany in 1876 and he brought with him some fruit trees that he planted and he would take his fruit to Judsonia and Searcy to sell. Joe probley learned the skill of raising fruit trees from Mr Nier. Joe and Carrie's daughter
Katie Elizabeth married Charles Walter Nier a son of Julius Nier. In later years Joe is remembered as a little man with white hair and had a walking stick, but he stilled raised his apples and peaches and his wife would dry them and make the
fried apple and peach pie.
