Richard “Dick” Taft Messinger
(25 Jun 1917 – 1 Feb 2002)

Dick Taft Messinger passed away on 1 February 2002.  Dick has been involved in the Taft Family Association (TFA) for decades.  He has been an officer of the TFA for many years and was currently serving as the Association's Historian and Newsletter Editor.  Dick has been the heart and soul of the Association for years.  A tremendous researcher and friend to all who needed his help.  Our thoughts and prayers reach out to his wife and the entire Messinger family.  Dick was the 6th Great Grandson of Robert and Sarah Taft.  He was the son of Adin Freeman and Mabel Moore (Taft) Messinger.  His line to Robert and Sarah Taft was: Mabel Moore (8), George Mather (7), Austin Augustus (6), Amariah (5), Jotham (4), Caleb (3), Daniel (2), Robert (1).  He will be missed by all.

A Memorial Service was held on February 11, 2002 at Heatherwood in Yarmouthport, MA.
