Jesse Abel Cline - Civil War .
Jesse Abel Cline,(click
on link for more information) son of Mary Conrad and David A.
Cline, was born about 1815 in Lincoln County, North Carolina. He
volunteered at age 45 and was enlisted by Captain McKanny on the 2nd day of May, 1861 for service in the
Third Regiment of
Tennessee for the Confederacy. At this time he was
married and had eleven children. He and his family are found on the the 1860 census in
Blount County, Tennessee. His military records show he enlisted at Maryville, Tenn., which is in Blount County.
Some researchers show he died Oct 1861 in Manassas,
Virginia, but as I believe these documents below are his and they show
he was discharged in November 1961. If someone has other
documentation, I'd welcome it.
