CLINE, David Anthony 1

  • Born: Between 1814 and 1817, , Lincoln County, North Carolina, USA
  • Marriage: COCHRAN, Edith "Edee" Caroline on 20 Aug 1840 in , Macon County, North Carolina, USA
  • Died: 28 Jan 1865, Nashville, Tennessee
  • Buried: Nashville National Cemetery, Gallatin Road., Nashville, Davidson, Tennessee, USA

bullet  General Notes:

It's possible that David was married two times, reasons below:
1. His first child, Margaret/Mary/Mag's date of birth is 1935, Sources - burial records and David's gr.gr. dau., Sandra Ratledge, but the 1850 census list her as age 10, so I'm not sure.
2. His date of married to Edith "Edee" is Aug 1840, source - Sandra Ratledge
3. George B. Cline, Jr. in Chapter 3, page 176 of his book presumes that David's first wife has died by the 1850 census, saying a wife is not present, but actually the one listed as Eda E., age 27 (looks like age 21) is Edee, his wife. George B. Cline also makes the assumption that of the nine children he list, only two belong to a second wife Edith, but if David & Edee/Edith married in 1840, all the children would be hers except possibly the oldest one, Margaret/Mary/Mag.
