Co., VA;[1] married Catherine Bishop February 17, 1869;[2] died November 27, 1894 in Floyd Co., VA, at
age 53; cause of death was heart disease.[3]
He began military service on October 1, 1861 when he enlisted at Floyd
C. H. in Co. D of the 54th VA INF. 2nd Corporal. Present on Jan 1, 1862, Dec 31, 1863 and on clothing receipt
dated April 14, 1864. Taken POW on May
20, 1864 at Cassville, GA. Described as
5'6", age 22, with a fair complexion, dark hair and blue eyes. He was sent to Rock Island, IL and held
there until he took the oath on March 1865.
Post war record indicates he was disloyal. Resident Floyd Co. and listed, age 47, on the 1890 Floyd Co.
Census in the Burk's Fork District.[4] He was a farmer on January 7, 1869 in Floyd
Co., VA.[5]

VA, at age 75; buried in the Hylton-Vaughan Cemetery in Floyd Co., VA.[12]
He began military service on October 1, 1861 when he enlisted in the
54th VA INF, Co. D at Jacksonville, VA.
Present on Jan 1, 1862 and Dec. 31, 1863. Deserted on June 14, 1864, took oath on Jun 20, 1864 at
Chattanooga, TN, released north of the Ohio.
Described as 5'9" with a fair complexion, auburn hair and blue
eyes. Post war record indicates that he
was disloyal. Resident of Floyd
Co. and buried in the Hylton-Vaughan
Cemetery in Floyd Co., VA.[13]
Marion Frances BARNHART; daughter of Jonathon Barnhart and Susannah Peters was born on
May 16, 1845 in Franklin Co., VA. She died on December 23, 1927 at age 82.[14]
