199.  Riley H.6 HYLTON (Burwell5, John4, Elijah3, George2, John1); born May 26, 1827 in Floyd Co., VA;[1],[2] married Hannah Wade December 7, 1848 in Floyd Co., VA.[3]

     Between 1850 and 1868 in the Western District, Floyd Co., VA, Riley was a farmer (with $1340 in real estate and $300 in personal property in 1860).[4],[5],[6]

     Hannah WADE was born in 1827 in Floyd Co., VA.[7]

201.  Lorenzo Dow6 HYLTON (Burwell5, John4, Elijah3, George2, John1); born August 16, 1830 in Floyd Co., VA;[17],[18] married Barbara Ellen Huff July 23, 1857; died February 13, 1864 at age 33; buried in the Confederate Cemetery at Marietta, GA.[19]

     He was a machinist with $484 in personal property in 1860 in Floyd Co., VA.[20]

     He began military service on March 24, 1862 when he enlisted in Co. D of the 54th VA INF at Abingdon, VA.  Elected 2nd Lieutenant on May 13, 1862.  Mortally wounded in action at Missionary Ridge, TN on Nov 25, 1863.  Died on Feb 13, 1864 and buried in the Confederate Cemetery at Marietta, GA.  1st Lieutenant.[21]

     Barbara Ellen HUFF; born in 1829 in VA.[22]

     Children of Lorenzo Dow6 Hylton and Barbara Ellen Huff both born in Floyd Co., VA, were as follows:

          369.          i.     Lutero M.7 Hylton daughter of Lorenzo & Barbara Hylton; born June 16, 1858;[23] married David Elliott Howell, son of William Allen Howell and Lucinda Duncan, February 23, 1893 in Floyd Co., VA;[24] died May 7, 1930 at age 71; Buried in Greasy Creek Church cemetery in Floyd Co., VA.[25]

          370.         ii.     Bartley E. Hylton; born July 29, 1860.[26]

 

 

202.  Nathan6 HYLTON (Burwell5, John4, Elijah3, George2, John1); born November 24, 1831 in Floyd Co., VA;[27] married Dicea Wade circa 1855;[28] married Octavia Graham after 1880; died March 19, 1911 at age 79.[29]

     He was a farmer between 1860 and 1868 in Floyd Co., VA with $277 in personal property (1860).[30],[31]

     Dicea WADE was born in 1835 in VA.[32] She died on June 14, 1880 in Floyd Co., VA; cause of death was heart disease.[33]

     Children of Nathan6 Hylton and Dicea Wade were as follows:

          371.          i.     Isabell7 Hylton; born July 23, 1855 in VA;[34],[35] married Callahill M. Dickerson circa 1880; died July 15, 1927 at age 71.[36]

          372.         ii.     Thomas F. Hylton; born August 18, 1857 in VA;[37] died November 10, 1876 in Floyd Co., VA, at age 19; unmarried; cause of death was heart disease.[38]

          373.      iii.     Luther Callahill Hylton; born December 20, 1859 in Floyd Co., VA;[39] married Virginia Dehart April 6, 1882.[40]

          374.        iv.     Ruth C. Hylton; born 1860 in VA.[41]

          375.         v.     Sarah Abagail Hylton; born April 5, 1862 in Floyd Co., VA; married Amon Preston Harman circa 1885; died June 23, 1949 at age 87.[42]

          376.        vi.     Mary Elizabeth Hylton; born November 1, 1865 in Floyd Co., VA;[43] married Emmett Starr circa 1880; died April 9, 1945 at age 79.[44]

          377.     vii.     Rowena Hylton; born October 22, 1868 in Floyd Co., VA;[45] married Noah Akers March 15, 1893.[46]

          378.     viii.     David F. Hylton; born May 17, 1871.[47]

          379.        ix.     Nancy Hylton; born November 5, 1874; died January 21, 1904 at age 29.[48]

     Octavia GRAHAM was born circa 1835.[49]
