certificate in 1858 but listed in 1860 as a carpenter with $90 in personal
property, 1868 as a miller, and in 1869 a farmer again.[3],[4]

the Weddle Cemetery in Floyd Co., VA.[25]
He began military service on October 19,
1861 when he enlisted in Co. D of the 54th VA INF at Jacksonville, VA. Present on Jan 1, 1862 and Dec 31, 1863. Chrisley was wounded in action at
Chickamauga, GA on Sep 19, 1863. He was
taken prisoner of war at Murfreesboro, TN on Dec 7, 1864 and sent to Camp
Chase, OH where he was released on oath on May 15, 1865. He was described as 22, 6' 1 1/2" with
a light complexion and hair and blue eyes.
Born Feb 18, 1842 and died Dec 14, 1917. Chrisley is buried in the Weddle Cemetery in Floyd Co., VA.[26]
He was a farmer on January 28, 1870 in Jacksonville, Floyd Co., VA.[27]

HYLTON (Burwell5, John4, Elijah3, George2, John1); born September 6, 1825 in Floyd Co., VA;[30] married Eunice Cox December 27, 1849 in Floyd Co., VA;[31] married Angeline Simmons March 31, 1868;[32] died July 23, 1904 at age 78; buried in the
Slusher Family Cemetery near the Laurel Branch Church in Floyd Co., VA.[33]
He was a farmer between 1850 and 1860 in Floyd Co., VA with $612 in real
estate and $344 in personal property in 1860.[34],[35]
He began military service on October 1, 1861 when he enlisted in Co. D
of the 54th VA INF at Jacksonville, VA but was rejected by the regimental
surgeon on Oct 2, 1861. Enlisted again
on Mar 24, 1862 at Abingdon, VA.
Deserted on Jun 14, 1864, took the oath of allegiance on Jun 20, 1864
and pledged to remain north of the Ohio river during the war. Described
as 6' 2 1/2 " with a sandy complexion and hair and blue eyes. His postwar record indicates that he was
disloyal.[36]
Eunice COX;
daughter of Ambros and Elizabeth Cox was born in 1829.[37] She died on August 7, 1867 in Floyd Co.,
VA; cause of death was consumption.[38]
