1. Jacob SHELL Sr. (416); born circa 1720 in PA;[1],[2] married Catherine ? (417) before 1742; died 1802 in Montgomery County, VA.[3],[4]

He lived in PA; Shenendoah Co., VA; Augusta Co., VA and Montgomery Co., VA. He was a farmer. He was Lutheran Calvinistic.

He is found in the Augusta Co., VA land records "1767, JACOB SHELL, 200 acres from Ebenezer Westcott (Westcoat) of South Carolina, by attorney Jacob Miller, Jr., and mortgage to Thomas Burk."[5]

George Taylor received land by deed from Jacob Shell in 1768 in Augusta Co., VA.[6]

He is found in the Montgomery Co., VA land records.

107 acres on south side New River went to James Haven, Jr. as assignee of Jacob Shell. James was probably Jacob's son-in-law in 1782 in Montgomery Co., VA.[7]

"1785, JACOB SHELL release from Augustine Price and Charles Rush of Rockingham County. In 1769 there was a mortgage between Jacob Shell and Thomas Burk for 200 acres which Shell purchased from Ebenezer Westcoat. In 1770 Burk assigned the mortgage to Price and Rush."[8]

Jacob Shell's land was adjoining to Samuel McCraw in 1787 in Montgomery Co., VA.[9]

He left a will on September 7, 1802 in Montgomery Co., VA.[10]

"The last will and testament of Jacob Shell deceaset was presented in court and proved by the oath of William Hervin a witness thereto, who says that Benjamin Sperry and Samuel Sperry attested the same in the presence and at the request of the testator: John Preston James Sallust and William Howin made oath that the attestatium in the name of Adam Wall they varily believe to be the hand writing of Adam Wall deceased and thereupon it is ordered to be recorded. And on the montion of Jacob Shell one of the executors therein named who made oath, and entered into bond, will securily accoriding be said certificate is granted him for obtaining aprobate thereof in due form. See order of March Court 1810.

1785 Oct. 22, CHRISTIAN SHELL and SARAH HAVINS, daughter of Howard Havins (Heavin), sur. Howard Havins (Heavin).

On February 27, 1794 in Montgomery Co., VA, Christian is listed as a witness to the George Taylor will. On March 10, 1801 Christian Shell was listed as one who helped inventory the George Taylor estate.[17]

3. ii. Gertrude (428);[18],[19] born circa 1746; married Phillip Williams (429).[20]

4. iii. Fanny (430);[21],[22] born circa 1748; married Conrad Wall (431) circa 1770.

5. iv. Molly (432);[23] born circa 1749; married James Heavens (433).[24]

6. v. Margaret "Peggy" (424);[25],[26] born circa 1750;[27] married James Sallust (425) November 4, 1780 in Montgomery County, VA.[28]
