78.  Isaac KEISTER (2973); born February, 1844 in Pendleton Co., VA;^[1] married Mary Kline Byers (2980) circa 1867;^[2] died June 14, 1916 at age 72.^[3]

     He began military service on June 14, 1861.  In the Civil War he enlisted in the 10th VA INF, Co. H.  His service record follows.

          Co. H. (from Rockingham and Shenendoah Counties) Enlisted 6/14/61.

          Wounded on 8/9/62 at Cedar Run and wounded on 5/3/63 at Chancellorsville. 

          Promoted to 3rd Corporal on 5/24/63. 

          Wounded 11/27/63 at Mine Run.

          POW on 5/12/64 at Spottsylvania C.H.  Sent to Fort Delaware, DE. on 5/20/64.  Released under Oath of Allegiance on 6/10/65.

           He had a light complexion, dark hair, hazel eyes and was 5'6.^[4]

      He lived in 1900 in the Middle River District of Augusta Co., VA.^[5]

     Mary Kline BYERS (2980)^[6] was born in December, 1836 in VA.^[7] She died after 1900.^[8]

     Children of Isaac Keister (2973) and Mary Kline Byers (2980) all born in VA were as follows:

       171.      iii.    Samuel C. (4127); born 1871.^[10]

+     172.       iv.    Aldine K. (4128), born March, 1875; married Margaret ? (4145).

       173.       v.    Ada A. (4129); born February, 1877.^[11]

       174.       vi.    Laura A. (4130); born July, 1879;^[12] died after 1920.^[13]

     She lived with her step-sister in 1920 in Augusta Co., VA.^[14]

       175.     vii.    Gary C. (4140); born May, 1881.^[15]
