     Susannah CROMET (2964) was born in 1793 in VA.[5]

     She was listed as “insane” in 1850 in Pendleton Co., VA.[7]

     He was a laborer on his father's farm in 1860 in Greenbrier Co., VA.[10]

     He was a farmer in 1850 in Pendleton Co., VA.[13]

 

     Margaret ? (2935) was born in 1802 in VA.[14]

     Children of Jacob Keister (2927) and Margaret ? (2935) all born in VA were as follows:

     He was a laborer in 1860 in Montgomery Co., VA.[22]

     He began military service on April 17, 1861.  In the Civil War, Peter enlisted in the 4th VA INF, Co. G.  His service record follows.

PETER J. KEISTER-Nephew of Peter Keister, Sr. 

     Co. G.  Enlisted 4/17/61.  Age 25; Laborer. 7/21/61 (1st Bull Run) sent on special duty to attend the sick. Present with company until killed in action in August, 1864.

     This identification is not positive.  Co. G. is from Montgomery Co., VA.  The 1860 Montgomery Census has a Peter J. Keister living with the Rainey family.  The 1850 Census has only one Peter Keister in that age range.  This is Peter Keister, age 14, the son of Jacob and Margaret Keister.[23]
