     He was Overseer of the Margaret Taylor farm valued at $311,000 in 1860.[4] He lived in 1880 in the  Blacksburg District, Montgomery Co., VA.[5]

 

     Levinia “Baby” Ellen SHELL was born in 1840 in Montgomery Co., VA.[6] She died before 1900.[7]

     Children of Harman S.4 Keister and Levinia Ellen Shell were as follows:

          196.          i.     Harriet A.5; born June, 1866 in Montgomery Co., VA.[8]

     She was also known as Harriet "Hattie" KEISTER. She was unmarried.[9]

     He was a farmer on his father's farm with $200 in personal property in 1860 in the Christiansburg District of Montgomery Co., VA.[22]

    A Civil War veteran, he began military service on May 9, 1863 when enlisted as a private in Co. F of the 14th VA CAV

     Absent on leave 5/9-11/63;  Issued clothing on 3/9/64.

     Absent sick in hospital Montgomery White Sulphur Springs on 9/27/64.

     Absent Without Leave 10/7-31/64.

     Present 11-12/64. No Further Record.[23]
