An Angel's Comfort

Two women came early with sad, heavy hearts;
Jesus died on the cross; it had broken their hearts

They brought sweet-smelling spices to prepare Him for death;
But found an angel standing at the door instead.

"Christ has arisen! Let it be known - -
That there is no reason to grieve or moan.

The tomb is empty, the body is gone;
Jesus now sits to the right of God's throne.

No one took the body; No one came thru the night;
He ascended to Heaven before dawn's first light.

It is just as He told you. It is just as He said;
Jesus our Lord arose from the dead.

His body no longer shall lie in this grave;
Go now! Spread the news, so that all might be saved!"
