WILLIAM SWINSCOW 1763
In the name of God Amen I William Swinscow of Lowfoot in the Parish of Hope and County of Derby Yeoman being of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding and being mindfull of the Uncertainty of this my present Life do make and ordain thsi my Will and Testament in manner and form following First and principally I resign my soul into the hands of Almighty God my Creator hoping for a blessed Immortality through the merits and Mediation of my blessed Saviour and Redeemer Jesus Christ and my Body I desire that it may be decently buried at the Discretion of my Executor herein after named
And as touching my real estate situate lying and being at Lowfoot aforesaid and also that my Estate lyeing and being in Greenfairfield and --- gaps in the aforesaid Parish of Hope I give and bequeath unto my loving Nephew Edward Dakin Son of Edward Dakin of Greenfairfield and to his heirs and assigns for ever; also I will and appoint my aforesaid Nephew Edward Dakin to pay out of my whole personal Estate the Legacys to the respective persons herein after mentioned
I give and bequeath unto my Eldest Brother John Swinscow the Sum of Twenty Poundsand if in Case my said Brother John Swinscow should happen to die before me or before the said Legacy of twenty pounds be payable or become due that then I will and appoint the said sum of Twnety Pounds given to my said Brother be equally divided amongst his four children or the survivors of them.
I also give and bequeath unto my loving Brother Samuel Swinscow the sum of Ten Pounds and if in Cse my said Brother Samuel Swinscow should happen to die before the said Legacy of ten pounds be payable and become due then I will and appoint the said Sum of Ten Pounds to be equally divided amongst his Children or the Survivours of them Also I give and bequeath unto my loving Nephew Henry Swinscow the sum of Ten Pounds and if he the said Henry Swinscow happens to die before the said legacy of Ten pounds be payable and become that then I will and appoint the said sum of Ten Pound before Bequestted be equally divided amongst his children and the Survivors of them. And as to the rest residue and Remainder of my Estate whether real or personal after paying the Legacys before mentioned and devised I give and bequeath unto my said Nephew Edward Dakin And lastly I will and appoint my said Nephew Edward Dakin Son of Edward Dakin of Greenfairfield to be sole Executor of this my will and Testament, and revoking all other will by me heretofore made I do declare this to be my last wil and Testament. In Witness hereof I have put my hand and seal this Twelfth Day of March and in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and fifty four.
