In the name of god Amen the xxth day of may In the sixth yeare of the Raigne of our Sovraigne lord James by the grace of god kinge of England france & Ireland defender of the faith And of Scotland the [six]th Anno dom 1608 I Michaell Swinscoe thelder of ffairefeld in the pysh of Hope and Countye of Derbie Husbandman beying sicke in bodye but in good & pfecte remembrance (god be praysed) do ordayne & make this my last will & testamt in manner & forme followinge: first I offer & bequeath my soule unto the hands of Almyghtie god my maker in Jesus Christ my redeemer by & through the meritts & passion I steedfastlie beleev to be of the mber of his electe and to the holie ghost my S[ ] And I comitt my bodye to the earth from whence it came & to be buryed in the chapell of ffairfeld: Itm my mynd & will ys that my funrall expences shalbe discharged of all my whole goods and all suche debte or debts as of right I owe to anie manner of pson or psons Itm I geve & bequeath unto my wyfe Barbara Swin scoe the whole third pte or porcon of all my goods Cattells & Chatells whatsoever Itm I geve grantt assign & bequeath unto my wyfe Barbara aforesd one litle house wherein one Catherine Bribe (may be Brilee) [who] [now] dwellethe and one garden or gardens shee [Dro inge] unto the same To have & to hold the same to her & her asgns for & duringe her Naturall life Itm I geve unto my sonn Michaell Swinscoe xijs in full satisffaccon of & his childe pte or porcon of all my goods whatsoever Itm I geve & bequeath to my daughter Agnes Wright iiijd in full satisffaccon of all her childs pte & porcon of my goods whatsoever Itm I geve unto my sonn Willm Swinscoe xijd in full satisfaccon of all his Childes pte & porcon Itm I geve unto my sonn Henrie Swinscoe xs in full satisffaccon of all his childs pt or porcon Itm I geve & bequeath unto Edward Hinchcliffe Clerk one great kimnell (tub or barrel) or turnell to salt fleshe in Itm after all my debts Discharged & legacyes before mentioned payd & all (fold in original) the [residue] of all my goods chattells & cattells whatsoever I geve & bequeath to my Sonn John Swinscoe and Jane Swinscoe my daughter to be equally devyded betwixt them Itm [I] constitute Appoynt my two Sonns Wm Swinscoe and John Swinscoe my true & lawfull executors hopinge that they will execute this my last will for my soules health In wittness whereof I the sd Michaell Swinscoe have Sette my Seale & [ ] the day & year aforesd
