JOHN SWINSCOW 1805

In the name of God Amen. I John Swinscow of Fairfield in the Parish of Hope and County of Derby yeoman being of infirm body but of sound and disposing mind and memory do make this my Last Will and Testament, in manner and form following and First and Principally I commend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God, hoping to inherit Everlasting Life through the mediation Death and passion of my Lord and saviour Jesus Christ, my body I commit to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executors hereafter named, ITEM I give devise to my sister Ann Swinscow all my lands tenements and heriditaments lying and being at Fairfield and Green-fairfield, and in the County of Derby now in my own possession, or holdingwith the whole of the Farming stock household goods and Chattells whatsoever or wheresoever For and during the term of her natural life, the stock and goods to be at her own disposal after teh decease of the said Ann Swinscow I give and devise to my Brother David Swinscow his heirs or Assigns forever The land lying and being in Greenfairfield To him and his heirs forever upon conditions Nevertheless that he the said David Swinscow my Brother his heirs or Assigns do and shall out of the said land and premises Well and Truly pay to his relations, (viz) Theofelus Norton Junior Twenty Pounds Martha Clayton Twenty pounds Each and every of tehm of Good and Lawful Money of Great Britain when he the said David Swinscow my brother his heirs Executors administrators or assigns shall take possession of the abovesaid lands ITEM I give and devise all that messuage or dwelling house with the Croft and garden ajoining thereto and Close on the Moor, with al the Appurtenences thereto belonging lying and being in Fairfield and County of Derby aforesaid and now in my own possession or holding To Edward Clayton Junior his heirs and Assigns forever And i do constitute and appoint my sister Ann Swinscow and Edward Clayton (Senior) Executrix and Executor of this my last will and Testament and do revoke all other wills by me heretofore made in witness whereof I have hereunto let my hand and seal the Twenty Seventh day of July One thousand Eight Hundred and Five
