Was a member of the Ginnindera Cricket Club. David Boon was born on 1 January 1836 at Ramsey, Huntingdonshire, England. He was the son of David Boon and Lucy Woolley. David Boon was christened on 10 February 1836 at Ramsey, Huntingdonshire, England. He appeared on the census of 7 June 1841 in the household of David Boon at Crease Drove, Ramsey, Huntingdonshire, England.1 On his arrival in Sydney, it appears that David lived around the area now known as Camden and Campbelltown. It's not known how he and Mary met. They may have lived close to each other as Mary's residence was listed on their marriage certificate as Gledswood, a very well known homestead, she was a housemaid.

In 1857. David Boon immigrated on 27 October 1857 to Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, aboard the 'John Bunyan'. It weighed 1440 tonnage and was built in St Johns in 1856. On board there were 109 males and 121 single females. 230 were married. On the voyage there were 6 births (3 male, 3 female) and 6 deaths ( 3 male 3 female). The ship arrived on October 20 under Master N.B.SHUNE and surgeon Edward KEARNY.

David came under the Assisted Immigrants scheme. The term 'assisted immigrant' refers to those people whose passage was subsidised or paid for through one of the several assisted immigration schemes which operated to New South Wales from the United Kingdom and other countries. To encourage migration, particularly of the working class, assisted migration was proposed and when this was tied to sales of land in the colonies, provided a way to rid excess British population at no cost to themselves. From 1831-1851, 100,000 arrived in the colonies through assisted immigration and by 1851, the percentage of convicts had fallen. Convicts comprised only 1.5% of population, emancipists 14% and free immigrants 41% .

He married Mary Anne Gutteridge, daughter of Thomas Newton and Frances Gutteridge, on 9 April 1860 at St Johns Church, Camden, New South Wales, Australia.2,3 At the time of his daughter, Ada's, birth in 1873, David Boon was a Labourer. From the publication, "The Weetangerra Methodist Church", it tells of how the original church was needed for a man with a family that had recently arrived. It was David Boon and family. At Gininderra Creek, Queanbeyan, New South Wales, Australia. He was a green grocer on the electoral roll in 1903 at 189 Liverpool Road, Ashfield, New South Wales, Australia. He died on 30 November 1912 at Ashfield, New South Wales, Australia, at age 76; The cause of death was due to Fibroid degeneration of heart, General Arterio sclerosis.4 As of 30 November 1912, David Boon lived at 16 Norton Street, Ashfield, New South Wales, Australia.
