ALTA MARIE (PHIPPS) COPELAND MRS. ALTA MARIE COPELAND, 76, of Huntington, W.Va., died Saturday, August 10, 2002, in St. Mary?s Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Monday, August 12, 2002, at Chapman?s Mortuary, Huntington, by the Rev. Harry Scarberry. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Alta was born January 24, 1926, in Huntington, W.Va., a daughter of the late Cesyl Reaugh and Sadie Ruth Hinchman Phipps. She was a member of the Twenty-Sixth Street Baptist Church and the Guyandotte Chapter #89 O.E.S. She was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell Denver Copeland; two sisters, Pearl Winand and Emmala Elizabeth Phipps; and three brothers, Franklin, Curtis and Glenn Phipps. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Nora Belle Copeland of Huntington; a daughter and son-in-law, June Carol Copeland Keena and husband, Charles, of Dania Beach, Fla.; three grandchildren, James (Jimmy) Keena of Dania Beach, Fla., and Alyson and Neil Copeland, both of Huntington.
