St Nicolas, the Parish Church of Portslade
Portslade was once a thriving downland community. In 1861 the population was over 700. Along with the nearby settlements Hangleton, Southwick and West Blatchington, Portslade is now part of Hove, surrounded by 20th century buildings. The church, built on a slope above the old village, dates back to the 12th and 13th centuries.
