Billingshurst Parish Church - St Mary

Billingshurst Parish Church

According to Black's 1861 Guide to Sussex, 'Billinghurst was one of the settlements of the Saxon tribe of the Belingas'. It lies on the Roman road Stane Street (Chichester to London).

The St Mary's Church has a spire of 120 feet. The west tower is 13th century, but most of the rest of the building dates from the 15th to 16th centuries.
